Himachal Pradesh launches construction of ‘Forest Ponds’ for Harvest Rainwater
The Himachal Pradesh government has initiated an initiative to rejuvenate water sources and recharge the aquifers through forest department with an outlay of Rs 20 crore under the Parvat Dhara Scheme. Work was started in 10 forest divisions at Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Jogindranagar, Nachan, Parvati, Noorpur, Rajgarh, Nalagarh, Thiyog and Dalhousie. Also, new ponds, contour trenches, dams, check dams and retaining walls have been constructed to control soil erosion. The objective of the scheme is to raise the water level by retaining water for a maximum period of time. RBI excludes Laxmi Vilas Bank from second schedule of RBI Act
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had last year expelled Laxmi Vilas Bank (LVB) from the second schedule of the RBI Act after its merger with DBS Bank India Limited (DBIL). RBI also cancelled the board of LVB and appointed former Canara Bank non-executive chairman T N Manoharan as the bank’s administrator for 30 days.LVB, yes bank is the second private sector bank after it to be out due to some crisis during this year. In March, Yes Bank, which was struggling with the financial crisis, was placed under the Moratorium period. The government had saved Yes Bank by asking state bank of India to take 45 per cent stake in the bank by investing Rs 7,250 crore.
RBI sets up advisory group to help RRA 2.0
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has constituted an Advisory Group to assist the Second Regulatory Review Authority (Regulatory Review Authority 2.0), set up by the Reserve Bank on May 1, 2021 to streamline the rules and reduce the compliance burden of regulated entities. The group will assist RRA 2.0 by identifying rules, guidelines and returns, which can be rationalized, and recommendations/recommendations are not valid. Suggestions can submit reports to RRA from time to time.

Kotak Mahindra Bank to expand online payments for farmers and traders
Kotak Mahindra Bank (KMBL) announced that it has been selected as a digital payment partner by the All India Electronic Trading Portal for Agricultural Products, National Agriculture Market (eNAM). KMBL will enable and facilitate online transactions for all stakeholders on eNAM platforms including farmers, traders and farmers’ producer organizations (FPO).Under this initiative, Kotak will provide payment, clearing and settlement services on eNAM platform to facilitate trade between buyer and seller of agricultural produce. Kotak has integrated its payment system and portal directly with the payment interface of the eNAM to enable quick and secure transactions for agri participants joining the platform.About eNAM:eNAM was formed on April 14, 2016 as an integrated national market for agricultural goods by networking agricultural produce market committees (APMC) across the country. Currently eNAM comprises 1,000 mandis in 18 states and three Union Territories. About 1.68 crore farmers are registered on this platform. The India-France-Australia Trilateral Foreign Ministerial Dialogue was held for the first time in London, UK on the occasion of the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
